I highly doubt Pyramid Head is in the stairwell.
~ Me, right before being scared crapless by Pyramid Head in the stairwell.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hey guys, AMA this year was amazing. I wish you all had been there. I took over 100 photos and a bunch of videos (though most of my photos were blurry and I can't upload the videos to YouTube for some reason), and on top of that, I have stories to tell about it.
First of all, on Friday, two of my friends entered the karaoke contest (they didn't know it was a contest when they signed up though, they just wanted to sing, and that made it so much more awesome). I personally think they did a great job. Also, this
Luke cosplayer
[link] has a great voice. He did, if you can't guess, the theme song of Tales of the Abyss (Karma, by Bump of Chicken). The winner of the contest wasn't a particularly good singer, but he was awesome and gave the whole room a case of serious lols. He had to get props for singing both parts of a duet by himself and playing the air-violin in the middle of it.
There was also a charity dance... rave thing on Friday. It was sweet. At the end they played a remix of some MGS themes. I got so into it that I fell over while dancing.
I cosplayed a
red scout from Team Fortress most of the weekend
[link] , and couldn't figure out why people kept thinking I was convention staff until I noticed that staff people also wore red shirts and headsets. Except their shirts said STAFF on both sides and they didn't carry around peace-bonded foam bats. ~_~
It's okay though, anyone who didn't think I was staff thought I was a great Scout.

I think Team Fortress cosplay was big this year. I kept finding them, or they kept finding me.
I liked these guys a lot. A
Red Engineer and
Blue Spy:
[link]Blue Engineer in dealer's room:
[link]Another
Red Scout:
[link]Someone took pictures of me with this
Blue Scout. We loved her. XD
[link]Blue Spy:
[link]But I think my favorite was the
Blue Sniper with the Jarate:
[link]I told him I liked the jar and he said, "Yeah, they banned my sniper rifle so I had to think of something really quick." XD I'm pretty sure it was just juice though because I saw him drinking out of it on the way to McDonalds, where we had our dinner because the rest of the people we were going to eat with went earlier without informing us.
It's okay though, there was a Jesus with a Heartless plushie, and he ate at McDonalds too.
Of course, we couldn't help but think the walk to the golden arches was longer than it looked. We had to pass a big abandoned lot on the way, but it wasn't all bad.
[link]Yeah, the rest of my friends were
One Piece characters.
[link] was the odd ball. Our Nami was a pretty good navigator though. Without her finding the McDonalds we probably would have gone hungry (we had a Sanji but he was rarely around and never made us food).
I felt bad for our Robin though. She kept getting cat calls when we were trying to cross the street. XD
I admit though, I was a bit jealous that my friends got hugs for their adorable costumes, and the Scout was unloved. On Sunday though, I finally got a hug from this
Ema Skye cosplayer:
[link]Throughout the weekend we had a few stalkers. One of them in particular (who I have no pictures of at the moment) was a Sanji who never ceased to find our crew and follow us all over the place and chat us up. Seriously, he followed us back to our hotel room on Sunday to help us move our stuff when we checked out, even though we didn't necessarily need his help. He's pretty excited about finding us next year. D= Not that he wasn't a nice guy, just a bit creepy. I doubt he'll recognize us next year though. We're going to do a "creepy character" cosplay group, and that Nami that he kept hitting on is going to be Voldo from Soul Calibur. XD
Another guy we kept running into was the
"Free Hugs Luffy." [link] hoped he would bounce if he was glomped off the escalator. XD
What surprised me was that there was only one
Pyramid Head:
[link]He was creepy though. XD Never said a word to me when I asked to take his picture. Just slowly turned around and glared.
And you know those
nurses from Silent Hill 2? There were two of them. One of them waved at me. XD I don't have pics of her though. Only the first one I found.
[link]I was also shocked that there was a
Trauma Center cosplayer in existance at all. At least I'm pretty sure he was. Couldn't tell if he was supposed to be Victor or Derek though. Glasses and black hair at the same time throw me off.
[link]One of the things that annoyed me about the con was that they made people get pretty much everything peace-bonded. Okay, so I shouldn't have been upset about them peace-bonding my bat, since Scout does use it as a weapon. But flags and little sticks with Styrofoam balls stuck to the end? Just silly I think.
This
Snake cosplayer
[link] said he was glad they didn't peace-bond his fists. XD
I also saw a MGS1 Snake but he didn't hear me when I asked to get his picture so he ran off before I got him. =< He might be in a Brawl photoshoot though. If I find any pics of it I'll post them.
Another one of my favorites was this guy. Bonus points if you recognize his character.
[link]Also,
Iron Man here.
[link] won an award for that awesome costume. So did the Cobra Commander behind him.
On Saturday we attended the cosplay skits. They were all right. A friend of mine offered to fill in for one of the groups who had lost some people at the last minute.
She had to be
Pandaman:
[link] ended up getting honorable mentions for their skit, which was pretty cool.
As for everything else...
Travis Touchdown:
[link]Master Chief:
[link]Alucard (Hellsing):
[link] [link]Dr. Stein:
[link]Rude:
[link]Kaito the Vocaloid:
[link]Speaking of Kaito, I did a cosplay of him for the second half of Saturday. It was alright. I daresay I look creepy in the photo of myself though.
[link]Thanks to anyone who bothered to read through all this. ^_^;;
If you did, tell me what you think! And if you were there, show off your photos!
